Room 1 of my exhibition reprises the exhibition Anne Desmet: Kaleidoscope first shown at Pallant House Gallery in Chichester in 2022-23. Room 2 offers a kaleidoscopic focus on London with a large body of works created last year and including two epic prints, both taller than me (!) and offering an Escher-like new kaleidoscopic take on the British Museum. Room 3 features a brand new suite of 24 kaleidoscopic prints entitled Sky Windows, which offer tantalising glimpses of London summer skies filled with a range of familiar, remembered and extraordinary sights from airships to hot-air balloons, from flags to fireworks.
During the run of Anne Desmet: Kaleidoscope/London at Guildhall Art Gallery, I’ve been conducting several artist-tours, the final one of which (though more might be scheduled in the show’s extended run) is on Saturday 24th August at 2.30pm. I’ll also be running a wood engraving workshop (suitable for those with some experience) on Saturday 17th August and a workshop for beginners on Friday 23rd August, both from 10-4. If you’d like to come along on one of those days, I’d love to see you but you’ll need to book for these events via the Gallery’s website (details above).
A wide range of editioned prints featured in this exhibition are available to purchase in the Guildhall Art Gallery’s shop, where you can also buy the exhibition’s beautifully designed and illustrated catalogue and a good range of postcards and other publications about my work. Prints from this exhibition and others are also available to purchase via London’s Eames Fine Art www.eamesfineart.com which represents my work.
