Carole Griffin is an Award winning artist and elected member of the “Royal Society of British Artists”. At the moment, she specialises in Still Life paintings using Oils or Watercolour but is equally happy painting whatever is in front of her.
Having been awarded her Degree at the Central, London, she was also selected from across the UK to be awarded the prestigious Leverhulme Travelling Scholarship. This provided many opportunities to work with a variety of professionals across North America, winning numerous “One Show’ Awards in the process. She was later invited, as a visiting lecturer to teach at the Central as well as at Norwich, Salisbury and Harrow Art Colleges.
Working directly from life, the aim is to bring out the surrounding everyday beauty with a touch of the existence and feeling behind what is being painted - It’s not just about copying the objects in front. The harmony and choice of colour are important factors in the work
Commissions have also come from the peerage in the House of Lords as well as from foreign Royalty.
She is represented by several Galleries as well as exhibiting annually with the Royal Society of British Artists at the Mall Galleries,
In 2014 Carole was awarded the Artist Magazine Award whereby she was interviewed and featured alongside her work. In 2016 the Dry Red Press Award selected one of her paintings to be published as a greetings card.
Recently she was commissioned by both the “Artists Magazine” and the “Artists and Illustrators Magazine” to demonstrate the process of Watercolours.
